Thousands of books donated to hospitals, community centers

Turn the page: Members and employees of American Heritage Federal Credit Union donated more than 6,380 new books to local hospitals, community centers and special care facilities through the sixth annual Books for Kids program. Books were delivered to Busia Orphanage, Blue Bell Mission Kids, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Hunting Park Boys and Girls Clubs, Bridesburg Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Bucks County and Grandview Hospital. A special donation of 5,330 books was made to the Reach Out and Read program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, which promotes early literacy and school readiness.
